Atholl Arms Hotel Dunkeld - Guest Comments

Spent my birthday weekend with my girlfriend in our favourite perfectly located dog friendly hotel. Our room was very clean,warm and spacious and had everything we needed for a relaxing January break. The newly renovated Bar looked terrific and greatly improved access to the great value Bistro. Staff, as usual here, are very friendly and efficient creating a customer friendly climate. Special thanks to Cammie for making Stella (our Boxer puppy) feel wanted. Food and service is first class from Big Breakfast to Evening Dinner. Well Done guys Almost forgot the great Friday Folk session and the superb comfortable front lounge furniture. Had one very enjoyable night at the hotel. Service from staff throughout our trip was impeccable. Good sized and comfortable room and great bed.
After a turn around Dunkeld and an enjoyable pre dinner drink we had opted for the once a month 5 course gourmet dinner. Excellent value. Each course was a delight with good portion sizes as opposed to monster tasteless servings. Real care in good ingredients, even the cheese plate was as good as anything I have seen in UK.

"From the arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble for the staff here. Our bags were taken upstairs, our room was spotless and the service in the dining room and bar were excellent. "My husband and I chose this hotel for a one night stay last summer. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a stunning location right on the river. Dunkeld is a pretty town with some picturesque walks. The hotel is traditional and welcoming and the staff very friendly and customer orientated. The public areas are cosy and well maintained.
Our room was modern, comfortable and clean. We ate in the restaurant which has a modern bistro look to it. The food was excellent. We could not fault it. The bar was also modern. We found the prices reasonable compared to Edinburgh. Breakfast was also very enjoyable. It was served in a lovely traditional room which looked out over the river.
There's a beer garden area down by the river which is a great place to enjoy a drink or two on a warm summer day. All in all a very enjoyable stay and somewhere we'd happily visit again. " - Mrs G, Edinburgh - January 2011

"This hotel has been recently refreshed and our stay here was a truly refreshing break, with the twin room (16) overlooking the river, and private car park, very spacious. The staff were really friendly and the food served great too. Hotel has become pet-friendly too (a bonus for me!) with dogs allowed in all areas except dining room. The "Bar" is more a lounge bar with cosy fire when needed where food can be served while dogs remain with owners. Price was also reasonable....will defo go back!" Guest stayed with us November 2011
