The River Tay in central Scotland is the nation’s largest salmon river and due to its sheer size the Tay always has sufficient water to encourage runs of fresh salmon. Commuting to the Tay's popular fishing towns of Pitlochry, Dunkeld & Stanley from Edinburgh & Glasgow can be achieved in under 90 minutes. This famous river is known for its heavyweight salmon and is still home of the British rod caught record of 64lbs. We access only the very best and well maintained salmon beats and top performing ’time served’ Tay guides for this experience. Under this high level of expert professional guidance salmon can be caught anytime throughout the Tay’s long fishing season from mid January to mid October.
